4.3. Adding clips/drones

Adding drones is done by adding clips. A clip is a group of drones, where transformations, effects … can get applied. There are four major ways to add clips to your scene.

4.3.1. Manually draw

This tool allows to manually place drones. This can be useful for manually drawing logos. To open the tool click on the pen icon in the main screen and a new window will open where individual drones can get added.

In this new window you can select the color of the drone, afterwhich you press on the “+” icon. Now when hovering the viewport a new drone will be visible under your cursor. You add the drone by clicking.

When you are done you press the select icon (pointer) again.

You can also adjust the position of a drone by selecting the drone. Selection is done by pressing on a drone or by dragging an area containing drones.. Using the transformation tool (rectangle icon) you can move / rotate / transform / … the selected drones.

You close this tool by closing the window and back in the main screen, you will see a new clip in the timeline with your drones.

4.3.2. Formations

The second way to add drones is to used preset formations. Some of the preset formations include: grids, circles, rectangles, stars, spheres …

By pressing on the star icon a formation clip will be added. In the properties you can adjust the preset. Adjusting the mode will adjust which formation is visible and will also update the possible additional settings to customise the formation.

4.3.3. Text

Using the text tool you can easily position drones to spell words. After clicking the tool an empty clip will be placed. In the properties you can adjust the text and the size of the text.

4.3.4. Scene clips

Using the scene clip it is possible to reference other scenes of this project. The usage is described in Combine scenes
